Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake




It might not be as catchy or known as the PLS (Pumpkin Spice Latte), but I came up with this moniker and cup of yum as I was whipping together a quick breakfast to go today. This Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake, or PSPS, contains an optimal combination of protein, healthy fats, and flavor to keep you full, your metabolism burning, and your taste buds seasonally satisfied. Try it today and you will not be disappointed!


Ingredients:

1 C milk of choice (I drink raw, grass fed milk)

1 C homemade veggie broth (you can eliminate this, but I love it for the extra nutrients)

1/2 c yogurt of choice (organic, grass fed is my preference)

1/2 c pure pumpkin puree

2 T almond butter

1 Banana

1 T flaxseed oil (great for omega 3's for your brain)

1 t pumpkin spice

1 t pure vanilla extract

1 scoop of protein powder of choice, optional* (I use an Amazing Grass protein blend because it is packed with vitamins and nutrients that keep my skin glowing and my body going)

Ice to your liking


Instructions: Blend together in your blender & enoy!

Notes:

  • Makes at least 32 ounces...one for now and one for later or share your pumpkin protein love with a friend :)

  • This is a great meal replacer and/or post work out shake.

  • *Unless you are working out quite a bit or have a heavy activity load you do not need to add extra protein to this shake because it has protein in the milk, yogurt, and almond butter.
